A public sauna village on the bank of the Limmat in Zürich Kreis 5, open from October to April. Four saunas, cold plunges at 2–6 °C, rest areas and a bistro; swimwear is worn, a 2-hour ticket costs CHF 29 and no booking is needed.

Facilities

Saunas and steam

  • Finnish sauna
    The classic dry sauna, usually 80–100 °C.
  • Bio sauna
    A gentler sauna of about 50–60 °C with more humidity, also called sanarium.
  • Outdoor sauna
    A sauna in its own cabin or with a door straight to the open air, so you step outside to cool off.
  • Aufguss (sauna ritual)
    A sauna master pours scented water on the hot stones and fans the heat through the room.

Cooling down

  • Ice plunge (12 °C and colder)
    A small pool of very cold water, 12 °C or colder, for a short dip after the heat.

Relaxing

  • Indoor rest area
    A quiet room with loungers to rest between sauna rounds.
  • Outdoor rest area (garden or terrace)
    A garden, terrace or lawn with loungers, to cool down and rest in the fresh air.

Food and extras

  • Restaurant or bistro
    Somewhere to eat or have a drink, often one you can visit in your bathrobe.
