About

A seasonal sauna in the old river bath on the Rhine in Schaffhausen, with views over the town. Between Aufguss sessions in the outdoor, Finnish and bio saunas you can cool off in the river itself, and a sauna can be hired privately.

Facilities

Saunas and steam

  • Finnish sauna
    The classic dry sauna, usually 80–100 °C.
  • Bio sauna
    A gentler sauna of about 50–60 °C with more humidity, also called sanarium.
  • Outdoor sauna
    A sauna in its own cabin or with a door straight to the open air, so you step outside to cool off.
  • Aufguss (sauna ritual)
    A sauna master pours scented water on the hot stones and fans the heat through the room.

Cooling down

    Step straight from the sauna into a lake or river to cool off.

Relaxing

    A quiet room with loungers to rest between sauna rounds.
