Water and sauna area of the Lebensquell health resort in Bad Zell, open daily to day visitors (sauna from age 14). Eight saunas incl. outdoor Finnish, salt and pine saunas, daily infusions, 32–34 °C indoor and outdoor pools; day ticket EUR 38.50, 4 hours EUR 26.80.

Facilities

Saunas and steam

  • Finnish sauna
    The classic dry sauna, usually 80–100 °C.
  • Bio sauna
    A gentler sauna of about 50–60 °C with more humidity, also called sanarium.
  • Steam bath
    Around 45 °C with nearly 100 % humidity.
  • Infrared sauna
    Infrared heaters warm the body directly while the air stays cooler.
  • Salt or mineral sauna
    A sauna with salt or mineral walls or salty air to breathe.
  • Outdoor sauna
    A sauna in its own cabin or with a door straight to the open air, so you step outside to cool off.
  • Aufguss (sauna ritual)
    A sauna master pours scented water on the hot stones and fans the heat through the room.
