About

A large thermal bath in Baden by the river, with indoor and outdoor pools fed by hot spring water. The sauna area has Finnish and bio saunas, Aufguss sessions, a snow room, a hot and cold contrast bath and a separate women's area.

Facilities

Saunas and steam

  • Finnish sauna
    The classic dry sauna, usually 80–100 °C.
  • Bio sauna
    A gentler sauna of about 50–60 °C with more humidity, also called sanarium.
  • Steam bath
    Around 45 °C with nearly 100 % humidity.
  • Aufguss (sauna ritual)
    A sauna master pours scented water on the hot stones and fans the heat through the room.

Cooling down

  • Cold plunge (under 20 °C)
    A small pool of cold water, below 20 °C, to dip into after the heat.

    A pool or tub of very warm water, 38 °C or more, often outdoors and sometimes heated with wood.
  • Hot and cold contrast bath
    Two pools side by side, one hot and one cold, to switch between.
  • Whirlpool or jacuzzi
    A warm pool with jets of air and water bubbling around you, usually for several people.
  • Indoor pool
    An indoor pool to relax or swim in.
  • Outdoor pool (heated year round)
    An outdoor pool heated enough to use in winter too.
  • Water massage (jets and neck showers)
    Underwater jets and strong streams of water that massage your neck, back or feet.
  • Bubble loungers
    Loungers under the water surface with bubbles rising from below.

Relaxing

  • Indoor rest area
    A quiet room with loungers to rest between sauna rounds.
  • Outdoor rest area (garden or terrace)
    A garden, terrace or lawn with loungers, to cool down and rest in the fresh air.
  • Foot baths
    Basins of warm, or hot and cold, water for your feet, often used between sauna rounds.

    Massages you can book, usually at extra cost.

    Facials, manicures and other beauty treatments, usually at extra cost.
