About

A large leisure pool and spa in Pontresina in the Engadine, with indoor and outdoor pools, slides and mountain views. The textile-free sauna area has Aufguss sessions, a cold plunge and Kneipp path, and set women-only times.

Facilities

Saunas and steam

  • Finnish sauna
    The classic dry sauna, usually 80–100 °C.
  • Bio sauna
    A gentler sauna of about 50–60 °C with more humidity, also called sanarium.
  • Steam bath
    Around 45 °C with nearly 100 % humidity.
  • Aufguss (sauna ritual)
    A sauna master pours scented water on the hot stones and fans the heat through the room.

Cooling down

  • Cold plunge (under 20 °C)
    A small pool of cold water, below 20 °C, to dip into after the heat.
  • Cold bucket shower or waterfall
    A gush of cold water from above, or a bucket you tip over yourself.
